It is linked to the Centre Culturel de Rencontre d'Ambronay, since its creation in 2003. One of the aims of the Festival has been to produce recordings – first, e. g., via the Auvidis label. During this period, the musician and choirmaster Jordi Savall was particularly involved.[1]

Since 2005, the festival has produced under its own label.[2]

Concert venues

The main venue used during the festival is the |Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Ambronay. Some concerts take place outside the village of Ambronay, such as at the Theatre of Bourg-en-Bresse, at the Royal Monastery of Brou also in Bourg-en-Bresse, at the Théâtre des Augustins in Montluel, at the Basilica of Saint-Martin d'Ainay in Lyon, or at the Cathedral of Saint-Jean in Belley.[3][1]
