Domenico Lalli
Domenico Lalli (27 March 1679 – 9 October 1741), also Benedetto Domenico Lalli, was a poet and librettist.

His biography is that of a man who reinvented himself: Born Nicolò Sebastiano Biancardi in Naples in 1679, was adopted by the nobleman Fulvio Caracciolo. He left the city after being implicated in a bank fraud. Two years he spent wandering about Italy in the company of the composer Emanuele d'Astorga; he settled in Venice in 1710 and found the favour of the Grimani family. His career flourished and his libretti were set to music many times by the composers of his day, for example: L'amor tirannico, was set to music as Radamisto by Georg Friedrich Händel; Ottone in Villa by Antonio Vivaldi, Il Tigrane by Alessandro Scarlatti and Tomaso Albinioni, Damiro e Pitlia by Nicola Porpora.
